Subaru's WRX has developed quite a reputation. It's known for its excellent handling and sporty features, so if you're looking for something fun to drive around town, the WRX could be a good fit. Any of the trims of the WRX could be a worthwhile investment, but if you'd like to treat yourself to something special, consider the brand-new WRX TR. This trim offers the ultimate driving experience.
Performance
You'll love getting behind the wheel of the WRX TR. It runs on a turbocharged 2.4-liter Subaru BOXER® engine that makes 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and it benefits from Active Torque Vectoring and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It can make the right adjustments to enhance performance and traction whenever it needs to. In addition, Subaru has set up the WRX TR with stiffer springs and revised damping rates to improve its ride quality.
Since it can achieve high speeds, the WRX TR needs reliable brakes to keep you safe. Fortunately, it offers high-performance Brembo brakes. The red front and rear calipers really stand out, and there are also larger pads, rotors, and a brake master cylinder than what you'd find in a regular WRX. The Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires that come standard with the WRX TR's 19-inch alloy wheels can grip the road well in various conditions and contribute to braking performance.
In years past, the versions of the WRX with manual transmissions were not available with the EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology package. Now, that's changed. The WRX TR, which uses a six-speed manual transmission, is equipped with the same driver-assist suite that's included with many other Subarus.
Safety
As part of this safety suite, the WRX TR has pre-collision braking and lane departure alert. This means the car can notify you when you're veering out of your lane or approaching an object with too much speed. If the situation calls for it, the car can hit the brakes on your behalf. It also comes with an alert system that will get your attention when the vehicle in front of you has moved forward after being stopped. Adaptive cruise control is included with the basic safety package as well.
Technology
Technology can keep you entertained and connected to others while you travel in the WRX TR. Its 11.6-inch touchscreen features prominently in the cabin. It's been set up with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, HD Radio™, and SiriusXM®. You can take advantage of the car's voice recognition program when you'd like to keep your hands on the steering wheel and your eyes focused on the road.
Design
With its athletic design, the WRX TR is one attractive car. It has a wide stance and a broad front hood scoop, and its hexagonal grille looks stunning. At the back of the car, the taillights have an interesting glow. The rear deck lid has a low-profile spoiler that adds to the car's style.
Interior
Inside the cabin, you'll find comfortable Recaro® front seats. These seats will support you and keep you comfortable on long road trips. Their carefully designed structure almost seems like something you'd see in a sports car. Their red stitching contrasts with the black and gray Ultrasuede fabric that wraps around them. So that you can get into the most comfortable position, the power-adjustable driver's seat can move in eight different ways.
At West Houston Subaru, we're excited about the WRX TR. This car can meet high standards and should be a pleasure to drive. If you have any questions, please let us know. We look forward to working with you to get behind the wheel of a new Subaru WRX TR soon.
